There's a lot of wonderful memories at this farm.
It's been in the family since the 1870's.
"Paul's Barn" has seen better days.
This is heading north...
We started calling Baxter the "farm dog" because he was loving being here, running around outside, riding in the truck...just being a farm dog!
Here's another angle of "Paul's Barn"...we're not really sure how it's still standing!
Down by the creek...
The burn barrel...
...heading north...
...heading south...
Part of the driveway isn't paved...
There's always work to do at the farm...
burning brush is a big one.
Ron retired November 1st and Joshua had the brilliant idea to get him to the farm as soon as he could. Joshua's idea, which was perfect, was getting him there would help with the transition from working close to 70 hours a week to not working.
All this burning was making me nervous. Joshua and Ron kept reassuring me it was fine...that the fire wasn't going to take off and burn all the trees and the grass.
They were right.
The kids all used to play in this 'crick'...but this time, we didn't let Baxter go down in it. There was a lot of green algae all over the stagnant water.
There was all kinds of things that needed to be burned.
A view of the farmhouse from the field where we were burning.
Joshua and Ron kept raking the brush on the outskirts of the pile into the middle.
These two...
I know Ron absolutely enjoys working alongside Joshua...and I think the feeling is mutual.
You can see Baxter inside the truck with Ron. Joshua had camped out in the pasture to make sure the fire stayed where it was supposed to.
I was surprised how quickly it burned down to that white ash.
Some of the old dead trees...well, they are no more, thanks to Joshua.
More brush for the burn pile.
This area is behind the farmhouse. It was totally covered in leaves and probably had been for years. Ron knew what was under it and decided to clean it up.
Aaron and Ashley had also come to the farm...along with Larry and Sandra.
This took my breath away because I first saw this picture and it looks so much like Grandpa!
Joshua...he loves to work at the farm!
The old well...
Back to rebuilding the brush pile...this time with green limbs!
This is across the road from the farmhouse. There's peach trees and pecan trees...and some dead trees!
The Pole Barn
Larry was clipping around the Pole Barn
Inside the pole barn...Grandpa used to also store onions and potatoes here.

One of my favorite pictures!
How we often see the pecans in the field...
Some of the pecans we picked...in a sack ready to haul to Colorado!
The path leading to the Pole Barn
Being a farm dog is hard work! This was actually right in the road in front of the house!
The sun was setting...
Grammy and Joshua
I wanted to get some photos before Larry and Sandra took off to head home.
Yep, it was a great trip to Texas...to see Grammy...to see Larry and Sandra...and Ashley and Aaron...and to get some work done at the farm!
