40 years ago today our sweet Lindsey joined our family. I had felt like it would be 'Lindsey', but we didn't know until she was born. Ron was there, of course, and her brothers came shortly after.Gabrial and Joshua were smitten with their sister, always wanting to hold her.Lindsey and GabrialFebruary 25...6 days old!March 5...2 weeks old. I loved to dress Lindsey in dresses and bonnets. With her oldest brother, Joshua...on March 11. Joshua was her protector. March 12. I had written on the back that this dress and blanket was from Grammy and Grandpa.March 15. I loved to make bread (still do!) and we had some friends who always wanted me to make them bread. They worked out a deal that they would buy Lindsey dresses for me making them bread!March...Lindsey was holding her head up during her tummy time!By April, she was really holding her head up high. Lindsey was constantly entertained by her brothers.April 26th was the day we dedicated Lindsey to the Lord. Edgar and Glenna Jones stood up with us as her Godparents.
Our pastor was Alvin Jolley.
Ron was always a great dad...still is! This picture was the last one we took at home before we left for Texas. It was also the last one we took before his wreck.
In May, the 3 kids and I flew to Texas. Ron took us to San Francisco where we flew from. Lindsey was the first granddaughter on my side of our families. Saddie was so happy to finally see and hold her.
Lindsey's Uncle John sees his niece for the first time.Grandpa was also seeing his granddaughter for the first time. Lindsey's Mimi was also so excited to see her first great granddaughter.Mimi sure loved her great grandchildren! She always said Joshua was 'sure a worker'! (He was and still is!)June 24...While we were in Texas, Ron was in a terrible car accident. He went off the side of a mountain. I got the call during the middle of the night, saying they 'thought he would live.' Our car was 6 hours north of the SF airport, but thankfully, Lindsey's Godmother, Glenna, was in San Francisco with our church youth group. She picked us up and drove us home. Ron was in the hospital in Yreka, California. Pastor Jolley drove Lindsey and I to Yreka and Celia, his wife, kept the boys. Ron had surgery on June 23. This was the day after. What a time that was.October 21...Lindsey was pulling herself up. She was always tough, how could she not be with 2 brothers? She slept through all the noise 2 brothers can make. She survived tonka toys being tossed in her playpen. Joshua was always her protector and Gabrial was her more affectionate brother. She was and always has been our cherished daughter! Oh how we love you, Lindsey! In May, the 3 kids and I flew to Texas. Ron took us to San Francisco where we flew from. Lindsey was the first granddaughter on my side of our families. Saddie was so happy to finally see and hold her.
Happy 40th birthday! I love you so very much!
Thanks Mom! Love it!
