This baseball practice was a special one.
See, this guy right here has enjoyed baseball since he was a little guy.
Since Emerson started playing, also as a little guy, Gabe has helped coach his teams.
This practice, however, was Gabe's first practice as the head coach.
I'm not sure why he decided to take on the responsibility, maybe because he could make the time?
Watching him coach is amazing to me.
As they were doing different drills, he would tell the players one thing to do different,
and it was amazing the difference it made. Gabe is so gifted in this sport!
Walt loves to hang out at the field.
This day, he was enjoying throwing the ball for Baxter!
Baxter may have loved it more.
He's so precious!
Both of 'my W's' (Walt and William) have the sweetest freckles!
They are so so so much alike!
"Watch this, Mimi!"
I did.
whoops!
This was the 27th.
Emerson was there a little early for practice while his dad was getting the field ready.
What did he do while waiting for baseball? Play basketball.
Yep, just like his dad!
There was a lot of batting practice this day.
Gabe ran the pitching machine.
Walt wanted to be out there on the field.
Emerson was CRUSHING the ball!
A few years ago, Emerson told me he didn't like going to practices.
When I asked him why, he said he preferred to just be with his dad.
He said his dad taught him the best.
My heart is melting....
OK, enough baseball for Walt.
He was ready to throw some more balls for Baxter.
It was definitely a wonderful time for me!
