Happy Birthday, Baxter!

This little guy is 3 years old today!  We love him so incredibly much!
His eyes...they melt my heart!
We call him a lot of things, and 'snow dog' is one of them.
He just loves the snow...biting it as we go on walks...playing in it...
and it can be so difficult to get the snow balls out of the hair on his legs!  If we give him enough time, he'll chew them off...more precisely, he'll yank them off!

He so loves his Saddie!

We also call him the 'farm dog'!  Whenever we go to the farm, he is in heaven!
Ron, Baxter and Joshua at the farm
 He loves his Joshua!
We also call him a 'go dog'...because he likes to go everywhere!
All this 'shelter in place' business, he doesn't mind at all!  He gets to be with us all the time and gets to go on so many walks/hikes!
Our snow dog, like I said, loves his Saddie.  She returns the affection, telling Baxter to 'give her a kiss' which he does!
Our 'go dog' likes to sit on the hump in the truck so he can see everything! He's a tremendous traveler.  We recently took about a 5,000 miles road trip, which he loved!
Baxter also loves his Sullivan!  He has always been so gentle with our little man.
This is his lookout!  He'll sit for hours and look out the window, especially if one of us is gone.  He'll sit and watch, waiting for us to come home.  He also likes to look for squirrels.  They are not allowed in his yard!

Diligently watching for any pesky squirrel who tries to enter his backyard!
He likes to look outside with his Papa, too!
This is another one of his spots.  He likes to sit in this chair with me.  Often when I'm in the kitchen, this is what I see...he'll sit and just watch me.

Baxter loves loves loves balls!  This one is not his favorite.  The yellow, squeaky, KONG balls are his very favorite.  He'll play with the ball for hours if we throw it for him.  He also likes to jump up and catch them in the air.

This was an injury he had.  It was terrible.  He split one of the pads on his left front paw. He did NOT like a bandage being on.  We ended up with putting the cone on...it only slowed him down for a matter of a few hours.

Part of being a 'go dog' is his love of hiking!
Baxter also loves Jesus!  Since we do online church during this 'shelter in place', Baxter joins us to listen to Shawn's sermon.

It's hard to believe our little guy...our very strong 26 pound pup...is 3 years old.  Sometimes I'll look at him and think that I still can't believe we have a dog!  He's definitely grabbed a piece of our hearts!
Happy Birthday, Baxter!
