This makes me laugh! Lindsey said she was trying to take a picture of her boys and when she started, they all aimed their nerf guns at her!
I've written about the imagination/creativeness of William and Benjamin. Well here is something they built in their backyard.
Sullivan is such a helper! (Lindsey might disagree with this!) He LOVED their old dryer.
This is so funny!!
For Halloween, Sullivan was a bear...a costume his brothers wore in earlier years. What a cute bear you are, Sullivan!
This just cracks me up! Here is Benjamin in his Halloween costume, sitting at the table on zoom for school.
And in the car, too...What a riot!
This is a continuation of The Johnston Chronicles which I started back in 2006.

The Summer WhiteHouse hike on October 14, 2020
My niece and nephew in law, Ashley and Aaron, were here in October. We decided to go on a hike. Brenda, Ashley's sister who lives here, was going to go...but COVID invaded her kids' school so they were at home on the computers. We totally enjoyed going with Ashley and Aaron...it was a wonderful day.
At Mount Falcon park, there is one trail that leads up to a spot where a summer White House was going to be built back in 1911 or so. We went up there...among other trails. See that white rectangle on the left? That's a marble cornerstone for the White House. Obviously, it was never built. I'm certainly glad, otherwise we wouldn't be able to hike up here. It's another gorgous view.
Aaron and Ashley...we sure enjoyed hiking and spending time with ya'll!

Walter's 5th birthday on September 25, 2020
Somebody special turned 5 years old on September 25, 2020. FIVE... Wow! That would be Walt!
I always make the boys a 'birthday book' as Emerson started calling them years ago. I love doing this. I put the photos I took (and ones their parents send me) from their previous birthday through this one. Here is Walt with his new birthday book.
Ahhh, and his sweet mama, Emily, reading it to him. We're usually there during this time...and we've missed all the boys' birthday's this year. It hurts my heart...I miss them all so much. Soon....

The beginning of a new school year in August/September 2020
Lindsey sent me these pictures...and I just love them! (Both the pictures and the boys in them!!!)
They were taking First Day of School pictures, even though the first day was on Zoom...and they're still on zoom! (The day I'm writing this is March 11, 2021)
How cute is this?
I have looked at these pictures so many times... They're all good, but it's just so precious with Sullivan holding his sign and looking at his brothers. Here it is March, 2021, and I'm hoping they get to go back into the school before the year is over. I know it's been a difficult year, without a doubt!

Taking Mom to see the changing aspens on September 30, 2020
My mom has lived in Colorado for 5 or 6 years and had never seen the aspens changing. At least in a park or where there were lots of them. So, I took her to Golden Gate Canyon State Park.
Some of the pictures in the post previous to this one were taken in this exact spot. Look at the difference in the colors! Just in one week. It was still pretty, but not like it had been the week prior.
I think Mom enjoyed it, regardless. It was fun to take her.

Golden Gate Canyon State Park on September 26, 2020
Aspens!
They are so gorgeous when they are changing colors! On September 26, Ron and I (and Baxter) went to Golden Gate Canyon. We were treated to a spectacular display of the aspens!
This is the view from a spot called Panorama Point.
We found this little pond. Some young families were there fishing..it was sweet to watch. Baxter was more interested in the squirrels running around teasing him.
Baxter won't swim, he'll just wade in the water.
It was a gorgeous day!Our treat after our hike! Cheers!

Back to Staunton on September 5, 2020
On September 5, 2020, we took my brother and Guy (Becky's brother) up to Staunton State Park. I wanted them to see the Eagle's View.
Of course, Baxter went.
My brother loves getting out, but he doesn't do it much at all. So I was glad to get him out to enjoy more of the beauty around here!
Guy lives in Texas. The elevation gain was a bit much for a low-elevation guy. We took our time.
Ron, John David, Guy
It was warm...we definitely went through the water that day, but it was definitely worth the climb!

Joshua comes to help his Pop on November 13, 2020
My mom loves to watch people work, especially if they're working outside.
Baxter does, too. He's always hopeful someone will throw him some balls.
We had some limbs that needed to be cut..
Joshua was the one on the ladder...taking instructions from his Pop.
The job was done...it was much appreciated...and it was a sweet afternoon with Joshua and Mom!
